Aerosol Foam Cans Are Can-Do for PDC International

Norwalk, CT – PDC International, manufacturer of shrink sleeving and tamper evident banding machinery, recently provided solutions for a major chemical company for their aerosol spray foam insulation cans. The company was looking to shrink sleeve both the spray nozzle hose in place and affix a tamper evident band to secure the overcap.
PDC provided its patented, heavy-duty, single-headed, in-line tamper evident shrink bander, the R-250 to perform the shrink sleeving application. Cans run at 200 cans per minute in free-floating fixtures, with the hose captured and oriented. A Walking Beam Band Positioner after application ensures that the sleeve is correctly located prior to shrinking.

A Model KRC 24-72-54 Dual Zone Shrink Tunnel shrinks the sleeve in a controlled manner, holding a very precise temperature range. The shrink tunnel is mounted on a Power Auto Lift Stand, which lifts the tunnel clear of the aerosol product in case of conveyor stoppage. To ensure that the finished product is compliant with required parameters, an Inspection Ejection system diverts irregular cans and fixtures off the conveyor, onto a reject conveyor.

Tunnel Jam Sensors count the cans entering and leaving the shrink tunnel, detecting any discrepancies. If detected, the tunnel stand is activated, lifting the tunnel clear of aerosol cans to reduce the possibility of explosion.
PDC International Corp. is a world leader in shrink sleeve labeling and tamper evident neck banding technology for packaging in the food, beverage, personal care and pharmaceutical industries.
